Sure, what you're missing is eBay's concept of 'minimum bid

eBay rejects it as too low. So, from $25 to $100, the minimum

increment is $1. That means that in order for eBay to accept your
bid, it<br>
would have to be $39.88 (current bid) plus $1, so $40.88. At
$40.61, your<br>
bid is too low.</p>
