Multisnipe not working in v2.5.5
Hi,
I just updated my Jbid from 2.5.3 to 2.5.5 and now i notice that
the multisnipe is not working...
I get the message that multisnipe is disabled in this version, as
the underlying high-bidder detection code isn't currently
working.
this realy bugs me, because i usualy bid several (same) items at
once, now if i win 1 item, i have to manually cancel the other
bids.
In the v2.5.3 you could do a multisnipe from the taskbar, and this
worked great for me, even with the fixed price issue.
I just set the 2-click to snipe.
Anyone have a solution yet or is it better to re-install v2.5.3
??

Yes, disabling multisnipe was really hard for me as JBidwatcher was one of the first sniping tools to have it.
Unfortunately the previous version sometimes couldn't correctly retrieve the high bidder, which meant that it wouldn't recognize that you'd won, so it wouldn't cancel subsequent listings.
This could result in the software winning more than one item, which is a very serious problem.
I felt an obligation to disable it until I could feel it would work better. That's not to say that future eBay changes won't break it again; I can never guarantee it'll work, but I owe my users my best judgement on this.
Getting high bidder detection working reasonably is one of my highest priority tasks for getting a new release out.
I'm really sorry that it's not working, but I hope you understand why I made that choice.
Best of luck with your auctions!

Perhaps you could cancel subsequent bids in a multi snipe if any finished auction ends on a price below or equal to the snipe price in question (or the snipe price minus the appropriate bid increment)? Even if that entails a small risk of not bidding, which I would happily accept, it would avoid the danger of winning multiple auctions.
Thanks
